Noun; the attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something non-human.
The beauty of personification of art is that visual representations connect to an intuitive part of the human form, which then resonates with us on various emotional, intellectual, spiritual and physical levels. The series seeks to bring the intangible to life and connect art and viewer on a deeper level. It is a collection of abstract representations of anthropomorphic metaphors, where human qualities and emotions are attributed to each individual piece.
The artist explores human attributes of emotion and energy in a visual representation of abstraction through variations of colour compliments and contrast, bold texture and placement.
“My journey as an artist is motivated by the belief that creativity is a fruitful gift with the purpose to inspire, encourage and motivate others. Using the realm of intense colour, texture, depth, layers and meaning, my artwork is a visual story and extension of my beliefs, values and experiences in the trajectory of life.
Connecting the creative process to the metaphor of the journey of life: Each blank canvas is a process of building, learning, failing, trying again, and building more layers of character to form the truest version of one ’s self.
Being an artist is a relentless pursuit of never giving up. But that’s the beauty - it’s starting somewhere and figuring it out step by step, it’s watching every piece of the puzzle placed together, just like life. Every mistake, every do over, and every moment you silently acknowledge how far you have come. And you keep improving, until there is a version you are satisfied with.
- And that, I believe, is Art”
